To create a new hosting account in WHM, follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to WHM
- Access your WHM panel by entering your server’s IP address followed by
:2087
(e.g.,https://your-server-ip:2087
). - Use your root or reseller credentials to log in.
Step 2: Go to “Create a New Account”
- In the WHM dashboard, search for or scroll down to Account Functions.
- Click on Create a New Account.
Step 3: Enter Domain Information
- Domain: Enter the domain name for the new hosting account.
- Username: WHM will suggest a username based on the domain. You can accept or modify it.
- Password: Set a secure password for the account. Ensure it meets the security requirements.
- Email: Enter the contact email for the hosting account owner.
Step 4: Choose a Package
- If you have predefined hosting packages, select one from the Choose a Package dropdown.
- If you do not have a package, you can manually configure the account by selecting Select Options Manually, which includes:
- Quota: Disk space allocation.
- Bandwidth: Monthly bandwidth limit.
- Email, FTP, Databases, and Subdomains: Set limits as per your requirements.
Step 5: DNS Settings
- Enable DKIM/SPF: Leave this checked for proper email authentication and protection.
- Nameservers: WHM will use the default nameservers unless you specify otherwise.
Step 6: Select Features
- Leave the default settings unless you have specific feature lists to assign.
Step 7: Select Locale
- Choose the language for the cPanel account interface if needed.
Step 8: Finalize and Create the Account
- After filling in all the details, click on Create at the bottom of the page.
- WHM will create the account and provide you with account information and access details.
Step 9: Notify the Client
- Send the cPanel login details to the client, including their username, password, and server URL.
